2Timer Help

Practical guides for humans, with structure that is easy for AI systems to parse.

Help Home

Practical help for running meets with 2Timer, from the first setup to the final results, for cross country, road races, and track and field. 2Timer keeps your meets on your own device: creating, timing, backing up, restoring, exporting, and reporting on a meet need no account, license, or internet connection.

Audience

  • Meet timers and operators: set up meets, connect timing systems, handle reads, and publish results.
  • Race directors, coaches, and meet staff: prepare athletes and entries, set up events, and check results.

New to 2Timer? Start with Getting Started. It also explains the Basic and Standard levels and where to find what Basic hides.

Ask the Help

Every help page has an Ask the help box at the top. Type a question in your own words, such as “Maya didn’t run the 1600, how do I mark that?”

  • The closest help sections appear right away, found on your own device.
  • When you’re online, a short answer appears above them. It is written only from these help pages, with numbered links to the sections it came from. If the help doesn’t cover your question, it says so instead of guessing.
  • Offline, you still get the closest help sections, and tapping one opens it right in the chat.
  • The chat can’t see or change your meets. Questions are kept for 30 days to find gaps in the help, without your address or account, and email addresses and phone numbers are removed before a question is sent.
  • If an answer is wrong, choose This answer was wrong so the help gets fixed.

Do I need a 2Timer account? What signing in does

No. Every meet works without signing in, and signing in never uploads, moves, or changes your meets.

Signing in (Sign in in the header; on a phone, at the foot of the menu) connects 2Timer to your organization:

  • your account menu shows your organization and role, lets you switch organization when you belong to more than one, and links to Hub, where owners and admins manage the organization;
  • your organization’s name and logos are used on labels and live results pages, and Settings → Company shows “Managed by your organization”;
  • live results published to S3 / R2 or Local Files can keep your organization’s list of meets.

Log out in the account menu forgets the organization details on this device; your meets stay. If 2Timer can’t reach your account, for example offline, it keeps showing the last details and never stops your meet work. A RunSignUp sign-in is separate: it is in Settings → Systems.

Every help page

The help is grouped the same way as the list beside every help page.
